Ever wonder why your phone's sound quality is so awful at times? Ever think it sounded like someone was making noises on the line,so to speak? Well, maybe this vignette I photographed in Lutherville, Georgia in December 2002 will help to explain those sounds.
This looks like an ordinary run-of-the-mill phone antenna tower, doesn't it?

Appearances are deceiving! Look at the flock of vultures all over the top of this tower.

Of course you've been through those times when the volume seems lower at times...

...and then it improves suddenly!

So keep these pictures in mind the next time your phone seems to go up and down in sound quality!
