PMI used to require submission of a PM experience resume which went into great detail. This resume allocated your work experience to the various PM processes and procedures.
-
This application resume is no longer required.
-
Judging by all the e-mails I receive asking about this, there is a lot of confusion among the candidates on this issue.
-
Let's clear it up for everyone:
-
The new application method starting in February 2002 requires PMP candidates to prepare PM experience verification forms, not the previously required resume. (See the PMI Certification Handbook for details.)
-
My review of these forms on August 27, 2002 indicates all PMI did was move away from a resume submission to a form submission which standardizes the experience reporting approach.
- You still need to be able to document your projects and then plug them into the categories of the five PM processes.
- A copy of the form appears in the PMP Certification Handbook available on PMI's web site.
- You can submit your verification forms electronically on PMI's website.
