I'm constantly amazed when
someone calls my house and hears the blues music playing in the
background, they nearly always say, "Do you have a party going on
there?"
Nah--I wish!
I just don't like it being
too quiet around the apartment--if it gets that quiet you hear the
ceiling fans whir, the dishwasher running and everything else.
Life's too short for all that background noise to get in the way, so
I crank up good blues about life going well and sad blues about all
those problems we encounter and things getting better blues about a
better thing happening to us. Yeah, almost a party, but not
quite!
So turn up your
blues---from KoKo Taylor to Muddy Waters to Howlin' Wolf to Susan
Tedeschi to CoCo Montoya to whomever you have on disk. In the
immortal words of Bo Diddley, "Your radio's turned too low, TURN
IT UP!"
