On August 10, 2001, I
attended the New York Mets Vs. St Louis Cardinals game at Shea
Stadium in New York City. This page has a few pictures from
that night when Mike Piazza hit one out of the field and dropped it
right in front of the scoreboard.
Here is Mike Piazza, the famous Mets
catcher, warming up just before the first Cardinal batter came up to
bat.
Note the 2000 National League
Championship logo on the ground behind the umpire.
Here's Edgardo Alonzo, # 13, an
infielder for the Mets, swinging for a double.
The globe in the lower left corner
contains the radar speed gun which displays the pitcher's throwing
speed on the scoreboard.
Here's what it looked like from three
levels up in the stadium as Mike Piazza swings to hit a home run out
of the field, dropping it right in front of the
scoreboard.
