Any of you who've
met me know I'm a retired chief master sergeant from the US Air
Force . You can imagine my excitement and sense of pride when
my nephew, Joseph C. Shediack IV, enlisted on December 3,
2001. Joey was assigned to Flight 152 of the 324th Training
Squadron, aka "The Knights", at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas for
basic training.
For all
of the friends and relatives of Flight 152 who could not
be with us on January 17 and 18, 2002, on the next few pages
you will find pictures of the festivities
including:
- Retreat ceremony
on Thursday January 17 honoring the flag
- Graduation parade on
January 18 where Flight 152 won the drill award over 750
other airmen
- Open house on
January 18 in Flight 152's dormitory
- Town pass on January
19 at the Alamo in downtown San Antonio
--and a special note from the
chief:
Any one who thinks
Generation X doesn't care about anything hasn't been to Lackland
to see these young patriots in action! They are truly
answering President Kennedy's call forty years later:
"Ask not what your country can
do for you, but rather, ask what you can do for your
country!"
Flight 152 -- congratulations on
graduation! Aim high in your career!
-- Chief Master Sergeant Pat
Shediack, USAF (Retired)
aka "Bluejeans"
